A special THANK YOU to our most die-hard fans to help make this happen! However, if you missed out on the exclusive offers listed below, you can still place an order through our standard pre-order option currently listed in our webstore. The standard pre-order option comes with the standard Reign of Terror faction pack, but does not include the exclusive promotional cards, bundle offers, or pricing.
For a limited-time, Reign of Terror, a faction pack for Battle for Sularia: The Card Game, will be available for pre-order. If you backed us on Kickstarter, then the pre-order options below will look very familiar—they're literally the same thing!
As we mentioned in our fourth update on the Kickstarter campaign, we have secured some additional outside funding, which helped lowered our previous funding goal. Based on the results of our survey, the vast majority of our Kickstarter backers were OK with transitioning their pledge to our pre-order here. We can't say thank you enough for your feedback and continued interest in making Reign of Terror a reality!

Reign of Terror introduces a brand new faction to the world of Sularia. The Protoan were originally designed as a biological weapon alternative to the conventional weapons of their time. They were engineered to aggressively spread a viral infection that would pacify an opposing force or civilian population, while leaving the surrounding infrastructures and environment relatively unharmed. Of course, “relatively unharmed” is a very subjective point of view. Because, if the Protoan could not pacify an enemy with its virus, then they would simply devour them along with anything else in their way.
Ashfall Plains by Filip Dudek
The breeding facilities of the Protoan were believed to be one of numerous lost technologies of the time before the apocalyptic event know as the Fracture—nearly a millennium ago. Since the Fracture, they have evolved deep underground—far beyond their original design. Furthermore, the bio-engineering developed to control their population no longer seems to be effective, as they continue to spread at a rate far beyond their original life expectancy perimeters. As if the power struggle between the Jotune and Synthien wasn’t bad enough, this new emerging threat puts the very survival of everyone on the planet at risk.
Reign of Terror is a new Faction Pack for Battle for Sularia: The Card Game. It features the new Protoan faction and includes a starter deck as well as additional cards to customize your play deck.
Like all Battle for Sularia: The Card Game products, the Reign of Terror is an expandable and non-collectible card game release. Players can expect a full play set—four copies of each card—included in this Faction Pack. If you're familiar and turned off by other companies that force their players to chase rare collectible cards or buy multiple core sets in order to be competitive, we hope you'll appreciate our pocket-book friendly approach to our game community.
If you are unfamiliar with Battle for Sularia: The Card Game, the game incorporates some familiar TCG (trading card game) elements, while incorporating a point-cost mechanism typically found in tabletop war games for deck construction and overall game balance. Furthermore, we offer a new Alpha Program that allows us to release new card content every month for ALL factions, as well as an organize play kit for retailers to promote league play in their stores.
An Exsularian | Juicer by Justine Cruz
If you have downloaded a digital copy of Reign of Terror, then you know that it was originally planned as a starter set that included both the Protoan and Exsularian. Based on community feedback however, we split it into two parts for the Kickstarter.
As we move forward into this new pre-order, the Reign of Terror will still feature only the Protoan, but it will no longer be promoted as a two-part release. Nor will it include the Exsularian as per the Alpha Program digital-download version.
Instead, the Exsularian will be released as its own Faction Pack and available for pre-order shortly following the closing of Reign of Terror pre-order. Stay tuned, as it will also have its own title befitting their unique lore and play style.
First of all, the Protoan are a brand new core faction! Like the Jotune and Synthien, they have their own unique game play strategies as well as familiar options you would expect to find in a competitive card game.
Parasitex by Wizyakuza
The VIRUS/INFECTION mechanism is a two-part ability. VIRUS is represented by counters that buff your Protoan combatants in some way. However, when those VIRUS counters are transferred—through various methods—to an opponent’s combatant, they become known as INFECTION counters. As the name implies, infection is not a good thing for your combatants. If your combatants become seriously infected, they will die.
If a Protoan combatant has the CHALLENGE keyword, it can single out an opponent’s combatant to defend against it. Whether through intimidation, mind control, or some primal subconscious response of the defender—it also doesn’t matter if the defender is reset or activated—it has to defend. While this may seem like a good idea by the defender for whatever reason, it usually results in it being completely devoured.
In Reign of Terror, we introduce HARDENED as a keyword that is linked to sites, however it's possible you will see this keyword on combatants in the near future. The ability is pretty solid, pun intended, as it prevents blast-through damage. So if you are familiar with the basic rules, you'll know how useful an ability like this will be in order to stay alive.
Another new keyword introduced in Reign of Terror that can be found on sites is called LAIR. This keyword adds a new strategic dimension to the game by forcing the opponent of a Protoan player to attack specific sites. As long as a Protoan player controls a site with the LAIR keyword in their front row, their remaining sites are unable to be attacked!
Crazy Joe and the Alpha Program versions of the Hive Queen and Terrobite are available for a limited time as part of the Reign of Terror release. Once the pre-order is over, Crazy Joe will only be available in a future separate release; while the Alpha Program versions of Hive Queen and Terrobite will no longer be available. So if you want these cards, make sure to get your pre-order completed by June 5th!

Historically, we've worked closely with our shipping and fulfillment centers to provide the most cost effective option we can provide to our backers. As many of you know, most indie game publishers do not have the buying power and resources to absorb all of these costs internally like the online mega retailers of the world. However, that doesn't mean we don't continually keep our eyes open for improving this part of our business.
In late 2011, Jesse Bergman pitched a card game idea to his friend John Kimmel...nothing has been the same since.
In 2014, they officially joined forces to form Punch-It Entertainment, LLC. The name summarized three things the two guys had an appreciation for—fast cars, pies, and games. “Punch-it” a car enthusiast reference to driving fast, the P.I.E. acronym that references their love of pies, and the board game term for punching components out of cardboard. Yes, they may have a tendency to overthink things...
Together they designed and developed Battle for Sularia: The Battle Begins, which was successfully funded on Kickstarter in July 2015. It was followed up by the successful expansion—Blood, Profit, and Glory: Command Pack—in 2016. They prefer you don’t ask about 2017. Along the way, they’ve picked up a variety of different team members and content contributors; which has provided invaluable experience into game development and storytelling.
The team at Punch-It has a passion for game design, gorgeous visuals, and elaborate storytelling. They’ve been extremely busy with rebooting their entire design and development process for making games in 2018 and beyond. If you missed it above in the campaign, they have developed an entirely new program—Alpha and Omega Program—for bringing new and consistent content to their core player base moving forward. The reaction has been extremely positive. Ultimately, the feedback from the community is the cornerstone to their new program.
While there are always risks related to production, we have currently developed the
Battle for Sularia: Reign of Terror as much as possible. Game mechanics are done and thoroughly tested. Graphic design and illustrations are nearly complete. Of course, some of the more premium stretch goals may add a little more time on the production side and we will do our best to mitigate any delays and communicate those details to our customers as soon as possible.
With that all in mind, once the pre-order is complete, we will be able to finalize the few remaining design and illustration assets within a short turnaround time and send our files off to the printer. Items that are potentially out of our control are as follows: printing delays, overseas shipping, and custom delays. We will do our best to promptly respond to any questions or concerns our customers may have.
From all of us at Punch-It Entertainment – thank you!
